INOUIS
Violin bow’s hair, old wooden ice skates, metal, natural moss.
The Inouis tribe is known for its courage and pugnacity. For a long time, they have fought to defend their forests from predators who have come to raze them. The barely dry wood will be used to make poor quality furniture.
Although a tree can become a hundred years old, the average life span of the produced objects is only 6 years. In 2021, 21 million cubic meters of wood were plundered, which shows how hard our heroes have to fight.
In the Republic of Karelia, in Ukraine even during the conflict, in the forests of Barnova, Dălhăuți and Tătaru in Romania the felling continues.
“800 trees a day cut, lopped, stacked and transported to the furniture factory,” a witness tells us.
The war names of the Inouis echo in the high trees: Volmar, Stoljan, Leksvik Falster… Billy, their leader, urges them to fight with his ancestral songs. Hearing these names, the devastators know that they will have to fight to cut down the trees they covet to make kit furniture.
